Policy: Use of Cellular Phones

SMHA prohibits the use of cellular phones in the dressing rooms at any time including all games and/or practices. Cellular phones are permitted for use in the lobby areas of all arenas. This ban applies at both of the Home arenas (OBCC or HSC) as well as Away arenas. Disregard for this policy will result in the Coaches/Managers removing the phone from the player and delivering the phone to the player’s parent/guardian. If the parents/guardians are not present, the coach/manager will arrange an appropriate time and place to return the phone to the parent/guardian. Coaches/Managers are required to notify the SMHA President after the removal of any cellular phone. A second infraction or removal will result in a temporary suspension from all team activities. SMHA requires that Peewee, Bantam, and Midget sign the “Cellular Phone Policy” form and return it to the team manager. The manager will retain a copy and provide team copies to the SMHA executive. Emergency calls can be made outside the dressing room areas.
